think the hardest part about writing this bio is that I was trying to write it from a 'How I got into wine' perspective. Truthfully, I never had that Eureka moment. So, let me tell you a different story. My first computer was a Commodore 64. My first modem was measured in baud. So, get off my LAN whipper-snappers. I've had a long & sordid history with computing, but I always felt like it had been a means to an end, and not the end itself. When we started this blog as a joke one night in 2009, I just thought, "Hell, I have the skills. Let's do this." Or, as Ben infamously said, "Bring it." But you know what? The funny thing about having a blog is that you're making a public declaration of your passion in something. So, "Hey, you like wine?" became "Hey, you want to come to this wine thing?" became "Hey, you wanna make wine?" Then you have a realization. As successful as you can become in computing, at least 40 hours of every week is spent basking in the glow of a monitor and also more than likely, within the cozy confines of a cubicle. An offer to travel abroad, work outside, make wine & unbelievably, get paid to do so is enough to tempt the staunchest cubicle monster. Perhaps someday this will be known as the beginning of the 'Millennial Flight.'
